Texas cotton industry partners have teamed up to host a TEXAS-SIZED -- CELEBRATE COTTON OPEN GOLF SCRAMBLE, on September 13, 2017, with a shot-gun start at 1:00 p.m., at the Shadow Hills Golf Course, in Lubbock! Calling ALL cotton producers, ginners, merchants, warehousemen, suppliers and service providers! The format will include a 4-person Scramble. A buffet lunch will be served at noon and the driving range will open at 11:00 a.m. Cost to play is $100/person. Registration is available on the Flow meeting online or paper registration forms. The Texas Cotton Association will kick off the annual CELEBRATE COTTON FLOW RECEPTION from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Overton Hotel in Sunset Ballroom A on September 13, 2017. This is the largest industry networking event of the season where cotton transportation is the theme! A can't miss social and business occasion!
A MEMBERS ONLY BREAKFAST will be held in Sunset A, on Thursday, September 14, 2017, featuring speakers addressing issues pertinent to our members. If you are a Merchant, Primary Buyer or Associate member of The Texas Cotton Association and have retired from the cotton industry, or lead any cotton industry segment, are from academia, government or press, you are invited to attend this session. Seating will begin at 7:45 a.m and we expect to adjourn by 9:00 a.m. TCA President, Angie Goodman, CEO of ACG Cotton Marketing, LLC., Lubbock, will preside. Dr. Darren Hudson, PhD Professor and Larry Combest Chair, Agricultural and Applied Economics at Texas Tech University, Lubbock; Steve Verett, Executive Vice President of Plains Cotton Growers, Inc., Lubbock, and William E. May, President of the American Cotton Shippers Association, will address this seated breakfast.
A Networking Continental Breakfast Lounge will be available beginning at 8:30 a.m., in Sunset foyer until we convene the TOWN HALL TRANSPORTATION MEETING promptly at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017. We have an exciting TOWN HALL TRANSPORTATION MEETING in the planning stages. TCA President Angie Goodman, will preside. Facilitating the program will be Michael Symonanis, Director of Global Logistics Container Group, Louis Dreyfus Corp., Cordova. Joe Tillman of International Cotton Depots, Memphis, and President of Cotton Warehouse Association of America, Washington, D.C., Rhonda Lambert, Logistics in Trade Execution, Cargill Cotton Co., Cordova, and Ty Reasonover, Senior Manager of Trade Development, Port of Houston, have accepted our invitation to serve as panel experts representing warehouses and merchants. We will also hear from "Our Man in D.C." - Peter Friedmann, Executive Director of the Agriculture Transportation Coalition, Washington, D.C. Truck, steamship and port representatives will also be included on the panel and as soon as we have confirmed these individuals, we will upload to this page. Questions will be gathered in advance of the meeting from each segment to be posed to other segments by completing the Town Hall Transportation Questionnaire circulated to all members and others, registered or not, desiring to participate in the Town Hall Transportation discussion. We will also accomodate questions from the floor and invite the audience to provide input. It is imperative that ALL stakeholders participate so that the entire cotton industry will benefit from these talks and perfect the movement of our cotton to final destination.
