Resort reservations may be made by calling 800.228.9290 or via the online reservation system, PassKey, located below. The resort has offered a fabulous rate structure to the TCA for three days prior and post convention dates. The special TCA rate of $179.00 is available for a standard room by specifying a room in the TCA room block. The hotel will offer additional upgrades to attendees at a $30 rate premium for view rooms at $209 and will offer executive suites at $379 through the hotel's online reservation system, PassKey. Upgrades are not guaranteed and are available based upon availiblity at the time of booking. Hotel room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes (currently 16.75%) at the time of check-out. The resort fee of $25.00 is optional and not mandatory. The front desk will be able to explain the package in detail and can easily add this option to your room if desired at the time of check-in. Seasoned cotton merchants will vie again to be one of the top three to predict the Cotton Futures Market on May NYF, April 11th close. Everyone is invited to participate, including spouses! Play without risk and play for F R E E ! Remember to put your lucky number on your registration form before you send it in. In order to be eligible to play, you must return your guess prior to the March 23rd, deadline. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place predictions made closest to the close.
SIGN-UP TO PLAY GOLF!...
The TCA GOLF SCRAMBLE 2012, on April 11, 2012, will be held at the TPC San Antonio ATT Canyons Course at the resort. Golf participants will practice their game early at a FREE Putting Contest at noon, prior to the golf scramble scheduled shot gun start at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Play to WIN CASH prizes on your registration form by signing up for the TCA 2012 Golf Scramble. You are asked to check-in thirty minutes prior to start. Limited to the first 80 players, who must also be registered to attend the Convention, teams will consist of A-B-C-D players. Prizes will be awarded for 1st place team, 2nd place team, 3rd place team, longest drive and closest to the hole. The fee is $145.00/per player, and includes green fee, cart and range balls. Beverages will be complimentary. Please register to play golf by the March 23, 2012, deadline. After the golf scramble on Wednesday, meet TCA attendees back at the Hotel for an outdoor Welcome to San Antonio Fiesta from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m! Enjoy cocktails, and a sampling of hors d'oerves, featuring the famous Campanas De America Mariachi Band and Folklorico Dancers.
Committee Meetings will be staggered on Thursday morning in order for you to sit in on those of interest to you or those in which you serve, as we take a look forward in the development and improvement of policies affecting our cotton industry.
GRUENE SHOPPING SPREE!
Ladies! Gear up for a Shopping Spree to Gruene Historic District and join us for unique Texas style dining in an 1870s cotton gin beneath the water tower on the Guadalupe River, for lunch on your own, at the "The Gristmill". The bus will depart the hotel lobby at 10:00 a.m. and return at 3:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 12th.
The National Shooting Complex
For all you renegades and renegadettes, a shooting clays event with prizes and more has been planned at San Antonio's National Shooting Complex! Whether you are a first time shooter or an experienced one, this is for you! Shotguns and all the safety equipment will be provided. Sign-up for the event on the registration form for $100. Bus will depart the hotel entrance on Thursday, April 12th, at 2:00 p.m., and will return to the hotel at 5:00 p.m. Ray Ragsdale, chairman, will be coordinating this event. LAWN PARTY EXTRAVAGANZA!
Later that evening, a four hour Lawn Party Extravaganza has been planned for you! Beginning at 7:00 p.m., Strategic logistic partners will underwrite the Transportation Reception, a highlight of the TCA Convention each year, featuring Flamenco/Classical guitarist Randy Cordero. Immediately following, the President's Dinner, honoring President and Mrs. Alan Underwood, will be an Upscale Lawn Party featuring a variety of food and beverage stations, prepared for your pleasure. Celebrated Cuban-American artist, Rolando Diaz, will create a musically inspired original oil on canvas, in a live big screen performance, and the donated art piece will be placed in a silent auction later that night to benefit our trade organization. The party will be extended with a dessert and coffee bar presenting professional DJ entertainment. Market, Golf, Shooting Clays, Cotton Club, 2012 Raffle, and other prizes will be awarded during the Lawn Party Extravaganza!
The next morning, we are especially excited to announce Scott Rasmussen,founder and president of Rasmussen Reports, will be our Keynote speaker. He is a political analyst, author, speaker and, since 1994, an independent public opinion pollster. He is a frequent guest on Fox News, CNBC, BBC and other major media outlets. His work has appeared in USA Today , The Washington Post , The Los Angeles Times , The Boston Globe , Investor' s Business Daily , The Christian Science Monitor and other major publications.
